This is the most adorable thing. He looks really different with the goatee!
Matsumoto Hiroyuki in a role as grumpy boyfriend (or so I guess) in an episode of a series called Mystery 9, aired in 2012.
Hehe, seeing him with his hair down is so unusual ;D
I only had time to make some screen shots before I gave up on the endless buffering between scenes. Perhaps someone who’s seen it can tell us more about Matsu’s role in this.

So from what I understand of Gamel’s character, he’s supposed to brutal, violent, a bit dim, but sweet and lovable… Apparently Hiroyuki has been hella type cast. xD

This must be one of the latest pictures of Hiroyuki Matsumoto (photographer: Masayuki Ikeda), and I think it’s my favourite picture of him so far. The picture has wonderful light, his skin has a lovely texture (yes, kids these days, look at this, you can leave your hands off the smooth-all-the-things-button and it’s pretty), he looks his age which is a fine thing in his case, and I just like the confident and mature look on him.
And someone else was there, too!
In the same Kamen Rider OOOs episode that has Matsumoto Hiroyuki, part of the story plays at a hospital. Now that’s an attractive doctor, I thought, when I got a glimpse of his profile. Yeah, I’m reeeeally slow when it comes to face recognition, but I do have instincts. And there is such a thing as google and Wikipedia, and yes, it’s Kubodera Akira! I think he had a short appearance as a friend of one of the main characters, a few episodes back, but I didn’t find it. But in episode 37, he gets some lines, and a flashback to the past.
Crappy screencaps, sorry, but hey, for once, we get Akira playing a good guy! And that makes the third Kamen Rider series he was in! (Please someone tell me there are more and I just don’t know about it yet!). Ah, I think I need to go rewatch that episode now…

Gamel is back!
Kamen Rider OOO, ep.37
After Gamel (Matsumoto Hiroyuki – Nephrite) and Mezul had been destroyed in earlier episodes (and I was right, Gamel was partly redeemed for being selfless and loveable despite being evil and quite simple minded!), I had always had hope they would come back because they’re still in the opening sequence of Kamen Rider OOO. And yes, they’re back! And Gamel is still munching stuff in every scene (aw…) and if you think Matsu-kun has been blessed by the Gods of Overacting in PGSM, you haven’t seen anything yet! ;D
Luckily, Gamel is a character to have fun with if you’re an actor who doesn’t like to give only 99% ;D
